Newark's Eastward Councilman, Augusto Amador, pays a surprise visit at the 5th annual "Life Celebrations" luncheon. Mario Santos, the Project's Director, is completely caught off guard by the Councilman's reason for being present at the 2010 event.
As it turns out, the Councilman was there to honor Mario for his humanitarian efforts on behalf of cancer patients and their families. Visibly emotional, Mario thanks the Councilman for his continued support to the Angel Lucy Wellness Project and for taking time from his personal life to pass by on that Sunday! Mario also takes the opportunity to extend his thanks to the other City Council members for this unexpected gesture and gratefully accepts this priceless memento from the City of Newark!
Mario would later receive another commendation from the City of Newark, in 2015, on the 10th anniversary of the Angel Lucy Wellness Project!
